St. Andrews Baptist Church Music Ministry

Music connects people! Of course, you can sing or play an instrument by yourself, but it’s so much more meaningful to make music with others. Music in worship is especially a time when barriers of age, race, and style become less important, and praising God becomes the primary goal. Come, make that connection – to others, and to God – and involve yourself in a variety of music ministries:

Music Ministry Opportunities

Sanctuary Choir

  • leads Traditional worship, Sundays, 11:00
  • presents unique annual “Early American Hymn Tunes and Spirituals” worship concert with neighboring churches
  • gives annual Christmas presentation with orchestra
  • members: adults college age and older

Joy Singers

  • offers ministry concerts in elder care facilities in and around Columbia
  • feature in Christmas and spring worship service
  • members: senior adults (55+)

Praise Team

  • band (guitar, drums, keyboard, singers) which leads Sunday, 8:45 contemporary service

Preschool and Children’s Choirs

  • graded from three-year old through 6th grade
  • led by experienced teachers and leaders
  • sing in worship throughout year, present Christmas music, annual recognition service
  • combine choirs for annual spring program

Youth Choir

  • sings in worship
  • presents Christmas service
  • participates in annual Youth Choir “Festival by the Sea”, Springmaid Beach, SC
  • members: 7th – 12th graders

The Bells of St. Andrews Handbell Choir

  • rings for worship, in special services
  • members: youth, college students and adults

Tech Team

  • opportunity for worship support for graphics, sound, video, in contemporary and traditional services
